A.J. Terrell was the most consistent player the Falcons had on defense last year. What he was able to do to opposing receivers, despite not having any kind of pass rush to help him, was simply ridiculous.

Going forward, we should expect him to be elite but also be prepared for a bit of regression as he has a challenging road ahead of him.

Falcons’ top CB will be tested against a lot of elite receivers throughout the year

They always say that to be the best, you have to beat the best, and the Falcons’ superstar corner, A.J. Terrell, will have the chance to prove why he is the best in the game due to the long list of great receivers he has to face.

That is an elite group of wide receivers, to say the least, even with Michael Thomas being included in there.

Having to face some of the league’s best route runners in Cooper Kupp, Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen, and Terry McLaurin will be extremely challenging.

Then you throw in some of the most physical receivers like D.K. Metcalf, Mike Evans twice, Deebo Samuel, Ja’Marr Chase, and Deandre Hopkins, and it becomes that much more difficult.

And there are also some solid receivers who are not even mentioned on that list like D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, Darnell Mooney, Chase Claypool, and Dionte Johnson.

It is apparent that Terrell will have no easy weeks during his third season in the NFL, but this also gives him the chance to show that his excellent sophomore year was no fluke and that he is truly the top corner in the game.

Perhaps, he will finally get voted to a Pro Bowl if he stays consistent enough and will get the media attention that he has deserved, but it will be no easy task for the former Clemson corner.
