The Atlanta Falcons have had a rocky off-season in what should have been a straightforward rebuild. Their decisions at the quarterback position and inability to completely commit to the rebuild have been head-scratching.

However, there is no denying the Falcons have made great moves this off-season opening up next year’s cap and adding veterans who can improve Atlanta this season. While the Falcons are obviously in full rebuild mode the team is making moves to improve and have a chance to compete.

After losing Matt Ryan the team added two quarterbacks in an attempt to give them a chance to compete this season. They could have easily rolled with Desmond Ridder as the starter or gone with a veteran as a bridge option.

Instead, the team brought in Mariota on a two-year deal and are attempting to build the offense around him and improve. This team is still not close to a playoff roster, however, they have made great moves that set the team up for success not only this season but in the years to come.
