1. Tom Brady

Tom Brady’s off-season retirement was too good to be true for a player who has never lost to the Atlanta Falcons. Brady’s most memorable Super Bowl win also happens to be most Falcons fans most painful memory. Brady retired early on this off-season before announcing his return forty days later.

To make his short-lived retirement worse Tampa has had a solid off-season bringing in former Atlanta Falcons receiver Russell Gage to add to their treasure chest of weapons. Just when it seemed Brady couldn’t haunt the Falcons anymore than he already had this off-season the news broke that when Brady retires he will join the FOX crew calling the headline NFL games for the network.

Meaning even if Brady does retire after one more season Atlanta fans will still be unable to escape Tom Brady.  In all fairness, it is obviously a great move for the network that will drive up fan interest in the broadcast.

Best case scenario for the Falcons is Brady moving to the broadcast booth next off-season just as the Falcons make a move to contend. The Panthers appear to be directionless, the Saints are facing quarterback questions, and if Brady retired Tampa would go back to being Tampa. Atlanta’s window to contend would suddenly be wide open if Brady would retire and mean this time.
