Reason three: There is no better on-the-field coach for the Falcons young receivers than Julio Jones

When Julio Jones was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons, he was put in a perfect situation. He had a veteran mentor in Roddy White who was willing to take him under his wing and teach him valuable things.

That same thing happened with Calvin Ridley, Julio Jones immediately took it upon himself to help Ridley become the best player he could possibly be. Think about all the times you saw clips of Julio working with Ridley one-on-one on different technical aspects of being a receiver in the NFL.

Julio has shown that he is one of the best player-coaches in the NFL, so many young and even veteran receivers have benefitted greatly from his wisdom.

Having him on the field to teach guys like Drake London, Bryan Edwards, Auden Tate, and even Kyle Pitts, who may not play the same position on paper but is put in a lot of positions that Julio was put in, would help all of them tremendously. It could also have an impact on the future success of this team. The front office should realize this and make a move for the future Hall of Famer.

One last bonus reason on why Atlanta should sign him: this is still Julio Jones we are talking about, one of the greatest to ever play the position. He might have lost a step or two but so did Jerry Rice late in his career. Julio can still use his physicality and technique to make an impact on games.

The big question is if he would be willing to come back? The answer would probably be a “no” but inquiring about him is well worth a shot.
