5) Tommy Nobis – Drafted in 1966

To place a guy known as ‘Mr. Falcon’ just fifth on this list seems like a huge disservice, but this is where the first player drafted by the Atlanta Falcons lands on the list

Taken with the first overall pick in the 1966 NFL Draft, Tommy Nobis went on to become one of the best players in Falcons’ history. He ended his 11-year career with 12 interceptions, two defensive touchdowns, and 9.5 sacks.

It is ridiculous that he is not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Part of that has to do with the fact that he played on terrible teams and also played well before they kept track of tackles, which makes his stats look a little underwhelming, but still there is no valid reason for him to not be in the Hall of Fame.

4) Matt Ryan – Drafted in 2008

There is no doubt that Matt Ryan is the greatest quarterback in Atlanta Falcons’ history. He holds basically every record for the franchise that a quarterback can have. All he did after he was drafted was take a terrible team to the postseason in his rookie year, and many times after.

Ryan has a chance to move into the top five when it comes to most passing yards in NFL history. People do not generally look at him as a top QB, but they should as he has some of the best stats in NFL history. There was no way he wasn’t going to be on this list.

It is sad to see that he has moved on but hopefully, he will get continue piling up the stats and also get a ring with the Colts, he certainly deserves it.
