Marlon Davidson – Defensive Tackle

What’s new? A Falcons defensive lineman entering a critical year, it seems like they always have one of those. Vic Beasley, Takk McKinley, Dante Fowler Jr., you can keep naming off names.

Marlon Davidson will need to break the trend of Falcons’ defensive linemen failing to prove themselves.

He was the 47th pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, but he has yet to make any type of impact, minus an incredible pick-six off of Tom Brady last year. He was drafted to be a disruptor and possibly provide some pass rush from all across the defensive line, but he has failed to do that.

He might only be entering his third season in the NFL, but he also was not the current regime’s draft selection which is huge factor. Terry Fontenot has no loyalty toward him, if he does not perform he might be cut before his rookie contract expires, albeit that is unlikely.

Still, it just feels like this is the pivot year for Marlon, he could either become a disruptive force in the NFL or continue down the path of being a backup option. Hopefully, he will become the former as this team will need him in a big way.
