3 Star quarterbacks the Atlanta Falcons should be watching closely this season

This season the Atlanta Falcons will be focused on evaluating Desmond Ridder and current starter Marcus Mariota.  Mariota will start the season as Atlanta’s primary quarterback the question for Mariota is how long can he stay healthy? The biggest issues in Mariota’s career have all been linked to injuries and inconsistencies that often followed those injuries.

Desmond Ridder is a third-round pick who is going to get a chance to play this season regardless of how Mariota performs. Atlanta needs to know what level of talent they have before they make a decision at the position during the 2023 off-season.

What we know about this Atlanta front office is the fact they won’t hesitate if they believe they can land a star player. Despite having a committed Matt Ryan under contract who at his worst is a top fifteen quarterback the front office opted to chase Deshaun Watson alienating Ryan and setting up the subsequent trade to the Colts.

While Atlanta’s attempt to acquire Deshaun Watson was ill-advised the team did prove they are willing to make big moves. Suggesting if a top ten quarterback hits the market again next off-season Atlanta will be in the middle of any potential bidding war. With this in mind, let’s take a look at three quarterbacks, in particular, Atlanta should be watching closely this season.
