3. Jimmy Garoppolo

Jimmy G is headed into the final year of his deal with San Francisco and remains the biggest question mark of the NFL off-season. Of all the possible quarterbacks to hit the market next off-season Garoppolo is certainly one of the more reasonable targets for the Falcons. He is a proven winner who is more than capable of leading a team into the playoffs.

If the Falcons believe they can build a playoff roster and simply need a veteran quarterback to rely on Jimmy could be a solid option. He is an obvious upgrade over Mariota and could allow Atlanta time to develop a rookie quarterback if the team wants to move into contending mode a bit faster.

Jimmy isn’t a quarterback who fans are going to be excited about, however, he would be a step forward for Atlanta. He has proven he is capable of having playoff success and with the right roster can have a team in position to win a Super Bowl.

We have watched both San Francisco and the Rams get very close to winning Super Bowls without having a top quarterback. If the Falcons want to save money at the position and focus on building a roster around the position they could do worse than Jimmy.
