Here is why the Atlanta Falcons do not have the worst roster

There has been a lot of debate this offseason about which NFL team has the worst roster in the league, and a lot of people have pointed to the Atlanta Falcons as the answer, most recently when CBS ranked Atlanta dead last.

However, while this roster is certainly not top ten in the league, they are not the worst. There are numerous reasons why this is true, which we will go over.

No one can truly say the Atlanta Falcons have the worst roster in football

This is a sad time for the Falcons, here we are arguing why this team is not the worst in the NFL, but it is something that is worth discussing.

Anyways, the Falcons roster is not as bad as some are making it out to be. Is this a playoff-caliber roster? Most likely not, but it is also not a roster that will land you the top pick in next year’s draft.

They have proven players in Cordarrelle Patterson, Kyle Pitts, Jake Matthews, Chris Lindstrom, Grady Jarrett, A.J. Terrell, and Casey Hayward.

That is more proven talent than the Texans, Bears, Jets, Jaguars, Panthers, Lions, Seahawks, and Giants have. You could also argue it is more than a few other teams have like the Steelers, Cardinals, and Raiders.

With teams like the Jets and Jaguars, experts argue that they have some of the best young talent in the league which could make them a breakout team in the next couple of years, but so do the Falcons.

Atlanta has Desmond Ridder, Tyler Allgeier, Drake London, Bryan Edwards, Lorenzo Carter, Arnold Ebiketie, DeAngelo Malone, Troy Anderson, Jaylinn Hawkins, and Richie Grant.

Sure not all of those players are going to turn out to be the players we want them to be but it is still more than a lot of teams have, then you factor in Deion Jones who has a history of success and could bounceback, Isaiah Oliver who was solid before his injury, and a veteran like Rashaan Evans, it only adds to the notion that the Falcons certainly do not have the worst team in the NFL.

This team has more proven players, more young talent, and more quality veteran players than numerous other teams in the league. They are not the worst roster in football, simple as that.
