Week 1: New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons on September 11th

This is a huge game for Arthur Smith and the Atlanta Falcons. Not only is it important to get a win in week one, but these are your rivals that are coming into your home — you just cannot lose this for multiple reasons.

Luckily last year Cordarrelle Patterson and Matt Ryan were able to come up clutch at the very end of the first game between these two teams, or else they would have been swept for a second consecutive year.

Now they will rely on Marcus Mariota to deliver against everyone’s biggest enemy. This Saints team is overrated and is not a contender, so the Falcons must prove that to them in the opening game of the season.

They have a quarterback and wide receiver coming off of injuries, a running back who has not played a full season since he was a rookie, a new head coach that has a bad record as an NFL head coach, and a defense that is overconfident.

This game will come down to whether or not the Falcons are able to block the Saints, if they are able to then they should win this game.

Marcus Mariota will remain undefeated against Jameis Winston, but this time it will finally be a close game between the two.

Results: Saints 20, Falcons 27 (Overtime)

Record: 1-0
