1. Surpass 3,500-passing yards for the first time in his career

In a passing league, this is a very realistic goal for Mariota one he almost reached in his second season in the league finishing with 3,426-passing yards with 26-touchdowns to only 9-interceptions. It was a great season for Mariota considering the roster around him and the expectations the team had heading into the season.

Mariota hasn’t surpassed that number since and this will be his first shot at putting up numbers in three years. The Falcons are often going to be playing from behind forced to pass and dink and dunk their way down the field setting up plenty of opportunity for Mariota to reach this goal.

While at first glance the number may seem a bit low considering Mariota’s talent level and the offensive line in front of him if Mariota can reach this number chances are the Falcons’ season has gone slightly better than expected.

Mariota will have arguably the best weapons he has been given in his career. Receivers who will certainly have a size advantage and two players in Kyle Pitts and Cordarrelle Patterson who have the ability to break a play anytime they touch the football.
