The Atlanta Falcons are headed into a season with understandably low expectations after losing quarterback Matt Ryan and dealing with a $63-million dollar dead cap hit this off-season. This limits Atlanta’s goals this season as developmental and setting themselves up for the future. There wasn’t a clear path to turning the 2022 Atlanta Falcons into a contending team so Atlanta made the right decision focusing on the rebuild.

A rebuild that will continue to allow some Atlanta players to continue to go overlooked due to the team they play for. It is fair in some ways when you consider Atlanta hasn’t been to the playoffs since 2017 and their last memorable playoff game against the Eagles was a failure against Nick Foles.

The Falcons aren’t a winning brand for the last five years and because of this often their best players will become overlooked or underrated. This year’s Madden ratings for Atlanta were further evidence of just that overlooking Atlanta’s best players and rating Calvin Ridley highly despite a rough season from the receiver.

Despite the irrelevance, Atlanta will be dealing with this season there are three Falcons in particular who deserve more attention and respect for what they have or will accomplish in this league.
