With the pre-season only ten days away the Atlanta Falcons will begin to make tough decisions on who will make the 53-man roster.  Leading to the question who could be surprise cuts on this Atlanta Falcons roster? Atlanta hasn’t been shy about attempting to make splashy moves or making moves that cost the team dead cap space.

Any player the Falcons don’t consider to be a part of their future is on the board when it comes to potential cuts. That includes veterans and potential dead cap hits that the Falcons don’t consider to be potential trade assets.

The team already has a massive $63-million dollar dead cap hit it wouldn’t be at all surprising if they add another big contract to that total. Atlanta’s goal is simple, reset the cap for next season and retool the roster to focus on making a push to contend during the 2023 off-season.

With this strategy in mind, there are several potential surprise cuts Atlanta fans could see when rosters are trimmed to 53 at the end of this month.

Atlanta’s aggressive rebuilding strategy hasn’t yet paid off but it is certainly putting the team in a position to be able to make high-impact moves next off-season and these three players will certainly earn consideration when Atlanta makes their final roster decisions.
