3 Biggest injury concerns for the Atlanta Falcons this season
By Nick Halden
3. Cordarrelle Patterson
If anything positive was happening with the 2021 Atlanta Falcons offense chances were Cordarrelle Patterson had his hands on the football. Patterson exploded for the Falcons last season in a utility role and was easily Atlanta’s most consistent and impactful player no matter where he lined up.
While some slight regression should be expected this season due to the change of quarterback and improved weapons Patterson is still going to be a pivotal part of the Atlanta offense. What makes him so dangerous is the rare mix of speed that allows him to simply outrun the defense along with his ability to run through would-be tacklers. Few players make it as long as Patterson did in the league with his skill set without having a huge impact on the team.
It seems Patterson was simply lacking the right opportunity that was given to him in Atlanta. For the Atlanta offense to find success this season the team is yet again going to be reliant on Cordarrelle Patterson to be a decoy or make plays. Along with Mariota and Pitts, Patterson will be one of the most important pieces in the Atlanta offense that will help determine the course of the season.
