The Atlanta Falcons front office and coaching staff seem likely to get a pass on a 2022 season that is a rebuilding year. Atlanta doesn’t have the budget or the roster to compete within the NFC or within their own division. This season Atlanta will deal with their massive dead cap hit and evaluate their young players before approaching the 2023 off-season with a sense of urgency.

Atlanta will have plenty of cap space and be able to chase any top free agent the front office believes to be a fit. While the quarterback position is obviously the most important for this exercise let’s assume Atlanta addresses the position in the draft or Desmond Ridder has proven himself to be the answer.

Finding a quarterback in free agency isn’t going to be a viable option. Atlanta will need to address the position in a trade or through the draft if Ridder isn’t the answer.

Atlanta’s biggest needs next off-season will be finding veteran leadership and players who can contribute on the defensive line. With the majority of their impact players still under contract, Atlanta won’t have to spend much time attempting to retain their own players. With this in mind, let’s take a look at three potential fits for the Falcons next off-season.
