Week 9: Los Angeles Chargers @ Atlanta Falcons on November 6th

The Falcons open up the new month by taking on a very difficult opponent that got vastly better over the offseason.

The leader for this Chargers team is one of the best in the league, that being Justin Herbert. He is young, proven, and extremely talented. It would be a miracle if the Falcons’ defense could hold him under 300 passing yards.

He is able to throw the ball to Keenan Allen and Mike Williams or hand the ball off to Austin Ekeler or rookie Isaiah Spiller. We would also be remised if we didn’t mention that Ekeler is also a huge part of their passing offense.

This was a top-five offense from just a year ago, and they are probably better now than they were last year.

Outside of Herbert, the part that is really terrifying for the Falcons is that the Chargers will have zero difficulties getting to the quarterback with Joey Bosa and the recently acquired Khalil Mack. Those are two of the best pass rushers the NFL has seen in recent memory. Have fun Jake Matthews and Kaleb McGary (assuming McGary wins the job).

Then in the secondary, the Falcons offense will have to tangle with J.C. Jackson, Asante Samuel Jr., and Derwin James.

Let’s be honest, this is another one of those games you should not expect the Falcons to win. The result might be a blowout for the Chargers.

Results: Chargers 34, Falcons 17

Record: 3-6
