4) November 8, 2015 – Week 9 vs. Saints – Won 34 to 28 (OT)

  • Passing: 28/39 | 71.8% | 371 yards | 9.51 avg | 4 TDs | 0 int | 135.7 QBR
  • Rushing: 1 attempt | 5 yards

The fastest way you can become a fan favorite in Atlanta is by carving up the New Orleans Saints, and that is exactly what Marcus Mariota did back in 2015.

Yes, it was against a much worse Saints defense, but he still almost threw for 400 yards and tossed four touchdowns with zero interceptions. He willed the Titans to a victory over New Orleans during his rookie year.

That is the other thing, he did this while playing in his ninth game in the NFL. Even when a superstar like Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes throws for 400 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions, it makes headlines, this was a rookie.

It would be amazing if he opens up the season by throwing for similar numbers against the same team, but it would be even more amazing if he can get the team to 1-0 to start the year.

3) November 13, 2016 – Week 10 vs. Packers – Won 47 to 25

  • Passing: 19/26 | 73.1% | 295 yards | 11.35 avg | 4 TDs | 0 int | 149.8 QBR
  • Rushing: 5 attempts | 0 yards

This was an amazing performance by a quarterback playing on a terrible team against a playoff Packers team that went 10-6 on the year. He ended up getting the win in this game in a convincing fashion.

He had a total of seven incompletions and four of his 19 completions went for touchdowns which almost got him a perfect quarterback rating on the day.

Coaches would say this is basically a perfect stat line. He didn’t throw too many passes, he was efficient, threw past the sticks, and threw four touchdowns to zero interceptions. It is a beautiful box score for Mariota.
