Roquan Smith and the Bears are at an impasse making it increasingly likely that the linebacker will be on the move before week one kicks off. The Atlanta Falcons might be a rebuilding team but they should still have interest considering Smith is a player they can build around. Alongside Grady Jarrett and A.J. Terrell Atlanta would have a third clear building block that would push the defense in the right direction.

Even at his best Deion Jones isn’t the player Roquan Smith is, much less the player Jones was last season for Atlanta. Foye is now a Jacksonville Jaguar and the team is counting on Mykal Walker and a number of veterans to step up and replace their missing production.

It seems increasingly likely the team is going to part ways with Deion Jones leaving a spot that Roquan Smith would perfectly fill. Smith will be tied to Atlanta based on the fact he played his college ball with the Georgia Bulldogs.

While in reality, this doesn’t mean the Falcons actually have interest it is an obvious fit and a move the team should explore. Any team that signs Smith will be expected to work out a long-term deal for the linebacker meaning this move would be for Atlanta’s future not to improve their win probabilities this season.

With this in mind, let’s take a look at three potential trade packages the Falcons could offer to bring Roquan Smith to Atlanta.
