When looking at the Atlanta Falcons roster and considering who must step up for the Falcons to steal a week-one win one name is obvious and won’t make our list. Marcus Mariota is the most important player for the Falcons on the field on Sunday and without a good game from him the team not only won’t win but it won’t be close.

The Falcons obviously lack the roster to win in spite of their quarterback any wins this season will be tied to great games from Marcus Mariota or Desmond Ridder. Mariota is going to have to consistently use his ability outside the pocket and not be afraid to make the deep throws he did throughout the preseason.

While the degree of difficulty will certainly be taking a huge step forward Mariota’s play style must remain the same if Atlanta has any chance of winning this in week one or throughout the season.

Aside from the obvious, there are four Atlanta Falcons who fans should be watching closely that will help set the tone of this game. Also worth noting here is the fact that established players like Grady Jarrett, Kyle Pitts, and A.J. Terrell weren’t considered for the list due to already being known contributors for Atlanta.
