Week one is here for the Atlanta Falcons and the season will finally get underway against their hated rival. If you polled Atlanta Falcons fans as to what two games they would guarantee a win in each season an overwhelming majority would pick a sweep against the New Orleans Saints. Sure the Panthers and Cam Newton had their moments and Tom Brady’s Bucs have haunted Atlanta but neither come close to the hate Atlanta has for the Saints.

This rivalry has long been one of the best in the league and is a great way to kick off the season for both sides. Despite the rivalry adding importance to this game the New Orleans Saints are obvioulsy the heavy favorites.

With more proven position groups on both sides of the ball it is hard to find an advantage for the Falcons in this matchup. Despite winning one game against the Saints last year the Falcons haven’t been close to the roster talent New Orleans has had over the last three years. Despite all of this talent the Saints have the same amount of playoff success with an understanable loss to Tom Brady’s Bucs and another collapse against the Vikings and Kirk Cousins.

Despite their playoff ineptitude for Atlanta to win this game the impossible will have to happen starting with Atlanta’s rookie receiver Drake London.
