3 Saints off-season additions the Falcons must slow down
By Nick Halden
2. Jarvis Landry
As shocking as it was to watch it wasn’t Odell Beckham Jr. who was Baker Mayfield’s primary target with the Browns but Jarvis Landry. When the Browns were at their best with Baker, Landry was the primary receiver and a consistent playmaker behind Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. The Cleveland offense was focused on running the football and using play-action to set up plays to Landry or Beckham.
The Browns’ core has been rebuilt with Beckham winning a ring with the Rams and Baker as QB1 with the Carolina Panthers. Landry found a new home as well joining the Saints as the second or third option depending on Chris Olave and whether or not Michael Thomas can stay healthy this season.
Jarvis is a great addition to the Saints’ offense and one the Atlanta secondary is going to have to show respect. While he isn’t likely to beat you over the top Landry uses his quickness to take a simple route for 15-yards and makes the plays that keep the chains moving. Landry was a great addition for the Saints one that would have fit perfectly alongside Drake London in Atlanta.
