The Atlanta Falcons lost yet another late lead this time against the hated New Orleans Saints in Atlanta.  The Falcons were up 26-10 in the 4th quarter and a chance to completely put the Saints away a Mariota fumble, poor coaching and a refusal to go for a key 4th and short resulted in a complete collapse and Atlanta lost 27-26 to start the season 0-1.

A late last gasp field goal attempt from Younghoe Koo was blocked to add insult to injury and take away any hope the Falcons had of recovering from their collapse. The field goal was a 63-yard attempt that would have easily been Koo’s career-long. Atlanta hitting the game-winner was unlikely but they were unable to even give Koo the chance to win the game.

While many Atlanta players and fans will be ready to throw away Sunday’s tape and forget another classic Falcons performance there are important takeaways the Falcons must learn from heading into week two.
