2. Atlanta Falcons pass rushers vs. the Rams offensive line

The Los Angeles Rams’ pass protection was so bad in the first week of the season the Bills were close to finishing with half of the number of sacks Atlanta totaled the entire previous season. Buffalo finished with seven sacks and had two more close calls to getting Stafford who ended the game bloodied from the Buffalo pass rush.

Perhaps in a game that appears to be very lopsided at first glance, the Atlanta Falcons will have a decided advantage. Their defensive line was fantastic for three quarters in game one sacking Jameis Winston four times and registering consistent pressure.

If the Rams’ offensive line continues to struggle Atlanta is going to be able to hang in this game much later than expected. Just as we watched in week one when Stafford is pressured he forces the ball and gives the defense a chance to make a play. For the Bills, this resulted in three picks and the ability to consistently cover for their own offense that couldn’t stop turning the ball over.

If Atlanta can protect the football and have anywhere close to the same success the Bills did against this offensive line in week one the Rams should be on upset alert.
