3. A.J. Terrell vs. Cooper Kupp

A week after A.J. Terrell was terrorized by Michael Thomas the Falcons need to let the corner attempt to re-establish himself against one of the league’s best receivers.  When this Rams offense is clicking Cooper Kupp is at the heart of the offensive gameplan. While they are more than capable of moving the ball without him there is no question he is Stafford’s number one target and a player the quarterback will attempt to force feed to get the offense clicking.

Terrell had a rough first week against the Saints getting burned with regularity and looking nothing like the shutdown corner he was all of last season. A week after a terrible game allow Terrell to accept the challenge and shadow Kupp throughout this game.

This isn’t to say Terrell will bounce back and shutdown one of the best receivers in football but rather, it is Atlanta’s best game plan to put Terrell on Kupp and hope he forces Stafford to throw elsewhere.  In Thursday’s opening game the only good things that happened for the Rams on offense happened with Kupp having the ball in his hands. If Terrell can shut him down or at least slow him down Atlanta will keep this game close.
