Despite how the game ended the Atlanta Falcons have a lot of positives to take away from their week one loss against the Saints. While it is fair to judge the coaching staff harshly for how they handled the final quarter it is only fair to point out it is their coaching that set Atlanta up for great success in the first three quarters.

A pessimistic viewpoint would point out that the coaching staff hasn’t learned from last season after they let leads slip away twice last year including an ugly loss to Washington that would have kept Atlanta in the wildcard hunt much later into the season.

The optimist would say the Falcons had a big lead they had no business having over a superior roster meaning Arthur Smith obviously has this team pointed in the right direction. No matter where you fall in the discussion of what the biggest takeaway from Sunday should be there is no doubting there were plenty of positives to focus on for a team that was never expected to be in the game against the Saints in the first place.

Let’s take a look at four Falcons in particular whose stock is pointed in the right direction after Sunday’s loss.
