4 Atlanta Falcons whose stock is on the rise after week one
By Nick Halden
2. Grady Jarrett
Grady Jarrett has already surpassed his sack total from last season finishing Atlanta’s first game with 1.5-sacks and energy and effort that won’t show up in the stat sheet. As an Atlanta Falcons fan, how can you not love Grady Jarrett?
The man has endured so much losing in Atlanta in such epic fashion and yet still clearly wants to be in Atlanta and shows up every game and does his job. Jarrett could easily complain he hasn’t had the help he deserves during much of his time in Atlanta forcing him to deal with double teams consistently. Instead, he puts his head down and relentlessly chases the play it doesn’t matter if the ball carrier or passer gets the ball past him initially or not Jarrett will trail the play and put himself in position to make a play.
He demonstrated this in week one playing one of the best games he has in recent memory firing up the sideline and his defense as they dominated the Saints early on Sunday. Regardless of whether or not Arthur Smith is the right coach or if the losing and collapses continue you won’t be able to tell by watching Jarrett’s performance he is the ultimate pro who has never given up on the Falcons and will continue to put in the same work and effort regardless of the result.
