The Atlanta Falcons were so close to wiping away what would have been the largest lead comeback in franchise history and in doing so perhaps wiped away the clutch time failure that has haunted the team. However, Atlanta fell just short losing 31-27 to the Rams in what should be considered a moral victory.

Atlanta fell behind 28-3 on the road against the defending Super Bowl champions and had the ball with a chance to win the game.  That isn’t something any Falcons team has been capable of since perhaps Matt Ryan’s MVP season.

This team showed heart and a belief in the system that Arthur Smith is putting into place. While it may result in a loss all the same it was a good sign that this team fought back and made it as close as it was.

If Mariota doesn’t force a throw to Atlanta’s fourth receiver on Jalen Ramsey perhaps Atlanta is sitting at 1-1. Unfortunately, however, Mariota’s mind-boggling decision cannot be erased and the Atlanta Falcons are still searching for their first win of the season. With this in mind, before we turn the page to week three let’s look back at the three biggest takeaways from Atlanta’s week two loss.
