All the off-season talk about what a monster Kyle Pitts was and how much better the Falcons’ star tight end could be in his second season. Two games in and Pitts has four catches and hasn’t made an impact in either game for Atlanta.  The fact this type of game for Kyle qualifies as a crazy prediction two weeks into the season is head-scratching itself.

A large part of the blame isn’t on Kyle Pitts or even Arthur Smith. Watching back both Atlanta Falcons games it is easy to pinpoint times Pitts was wide open or had a step on his defender and Mariota threw wildly or didn’t look his way at all.

Mariota isn’t an elite passer but Arthur Smith has to find a way to get Kyle Pitts going early despite his quarterback’s struggles. Who on this Seattle roster is going to be guarding Pitts in week three? It should be a winnable matchup anytime that help defense isn’t near the tight end and Mariota should force the ball early to Kyle in what will be a breakout game for Pitts in year two.
