1. Cordarrelle Patterson

Patterson surpassed his own rushing best total easily on Sunday rushing for 141-yards and adding in a touchdown and 12-receiving yards. He was an offense unto himself on Sunday and led Atlanta’s go-ahead drive and got the first down that allowed Atlanta to run out the clock. While the interception won the game Atlanta would have punted to Seattle with under twenty seconds left if not for Patterson’s first down.

This felt like a frustration game for Patterson in which he ran angry the entire game tired of losing and the ball being taken out of his hands. One could understand if Patterson did have some frustration with not being more involved late against the Rams and Saints when Atlanta needed a drive to win either game.

Regardless, Patterson answered any questions about who the primary running back is for this team. While he may still shift out to receiver at times it seems Patterson is going to be filling a typical running back role and less of the utility player he was last season.

With three games in the books and two over 100-rushing yards for Patterson, it is hard to argue against the logic. Whenever Atlanta is consistently putting the ball in his hands great things seem to happen for the Atlanta offense.
