1. Marcus Mariota

Marcus Mariota had a great game overall and helped keep the offense moving feeding Kyle Pitts and Drake London and making plays outside the pocket to keep plays alive. However, there was one moment in the game that could have gone down as the deciding play if not for Richie Grant and Grady Jarrett calling the game against Geno Smith.

The Falcons were up four and driving the ball with a touchdown all but putting this game out of reach. Mariota reached to fake the handoff and when he tried to pull the ball back in it bounced to the turf and into Seattle’s arms giving them a chance to drive for what could have been the game-winning score.

This follows a concerning trend for Mariota who turned the ball over twice last week against the Rams once with a great chance to win the game and the second on what would have been a desperation heave.

Mariota took a step forward in this game but if Atlanta is going to win games this season Mariota’s turnovers have to be cut down.  He has protected the football well early in games but has an alarming trend of throwing the ball to the wrong team or putting the ball on the turf in the 4th quarter.
