Atlanta Falcons WR Drake London snubbed from Rookie of the Month
The Atlanta Falcons nailed their first-round pick in 2022 with the selection of USC wide receiver, Drake London.
London is quickly turning into a star in the NFL as he has become the focal point of an offense that features Kyle Pitts. You simply do not go to a team with Kyle Pitts and easily become the top target in the offense, but that is what Drake has done.
He had an excellent first month in the NFL and should have been named Offensive Rookie of the Month but the honors instead went to another receiver that this fanbase does not like too much.
Chris Olave somehow is the Rookie of the Month over Atlanta Falcons star Drake London
Drake London has burst onto the scene as a rookie and become the number one option in the passing game for the Atlanta Falcons.
During his first three games, he has racked up 16 catches for 214 yards and two touchdowns.
The player who won the award over London, Chris Olave of the New Orleans Saints, totaled 17 catches for 268 yards and zero touchdowns.
Give me the two touchdowns over the one extra catch and 54 more yards, but that is just me and obviously, the decision makers feel differently.
Chris Olave also lost a fumble back in week two against the Buccaneers late in the game while Drake London has yet to lose a fumble. Not to mention, talk to me when Olave can do this:
The only hurdle you will find Chris Olave making is on Madden. Like actually, go search “Chris Olave hurdle” and the only video you will find is in Madden…
Drake London has been the number one receiver for his team so he has been attracting the best of the best so far this year, while Olave has Michael Thomas to take some pressure away from him. Sometimes Kyle Pitts will line up outside, but for the majority of the time he has been lining up as a true tight end this year or in the slot which forces London to take on a heavy load.
In conclusion, they dropped the ball on this decision, Drake London has scored points and taken on a bigger and more demanding role than Chris Olave has, London clearly should have been the Offensive Rookie of the Month for September.
