3 Reasons the Atlanta Falcons will upset San Francisco in week six
By Nick Halden
1. Jimmy G.
While San Francisco can say the same thing about the Atlanta quarterback situation it is simply a matter of time until Jimmy gives the Atlanta defense a chance to make a play. We are just two weeks removed from Jimmy pulling the old self-safety that proved to be the deciding points in the game.
Jimmy is going to be reliant on Jeff Wilson and Deebo Samuel to make plays for him in the offense. Even against the Carolina Panthers in a blowout win, the numbers don’t fully tell the story of the impact that Jimmy had on the offense. He is a good quarterback that can manage the offense at a high level, however, he isn’t a guy capable of a big comeback or consistently making the game-winning throw.
If history tells us anything it is that if Atlanta keeps this game within a score Jimmy is going to turn the ball over and give the Falcons a chance to pull off the upset. The problem for the Falcons is that Marcus Mariota isn’t nearly the quarterback Jimmy G. has been, however, his role in the offense will be limited in comparison to Jimmy who will have more chances to make the game-changing mistake.
