3 Reasons the Atlanta Falcons dominated the 49ers in week six
By Nick Halden
1. Arthur Smith
After this week there should be no more questioning whether or not Arthur Smith is the right head coach for this team. He was the best coach on the field on Sunday putting together a brilliant game plan for a team that continues to play so hard and show belief in the system and the man who is installing it.
Smith has the Atlanta Falcons as one of the top rushing teams in the league with Cordarrelle Patterson, Avery Williams, Caleb Huntley, and Tyler Allgeier in the backfield. While Patterson and Huntley in particular have been great the system deserves just as much credit as the players do.
Smith knew he was going against one of the best run defenses in the league but didn’t get outside his game plan believing in the run game and the system he had in place. It is fun to think about how great Smith’s Falcons could be when the coach isn’t operating without a franchise quarterback and with a large portion of his budget eaten up by traded contracts.
