The Atlanta Falcons are tied with the Tampa Bay Bucs for the division lead with the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers both struggling. With winnable games ahead could the Falcons not only make the playoffs but win the NFC South?

After the Atlanta Falcons’ week six victory not only brought the team’s season back to life but pushed them into a division race with Tampa Bay. While the Falcons might be a long shot to win the division there is no denying they have put themselves in a position to compete for the top of the division for the first time in five years.

It is also worth noting here that Atlanta’s best path to the playoffs might not be in a suddenly loaded NFC wildcard but in winning what appears to be the weakest division in the conference. While Atlanta may be far from division favorites looking at the season ahead objectively and learning from what has happened thus far it isn’t hard to make the case Atlanta wins this division.
