3 Reasons the Atlanta Falcons will upset the Bengals in week 7
By Nick Halden
2. Burrow has already been sacked twenty-two times this season
The Bengals having the second-worst pass protection unit in the league so far this season was surprising considering their off-season moves. The Bengals are tied with the Rams for the second most sacks given up with Washington and Chicago both tied for first ahead of them. Burrow is having to take far too much punishment yet again and find ways to move outside the pocket to make plays and give his star receivers a chance.
If there was ever an offensive line that is going to bring this Atlanta pass rush back to life it will be this week against Cincy. Grady Jarrett has been the only consistent sack threat for Atlanta with rookie Arnold Ebiketie consistently causing pressure but thus far failing to get home. This Bengals offensive line is a mess and a chance for Dean Pees’ defense to help cover losing veteran corner Casey Hayward but consistently bringing an extra rusher and making life difficult for Joe Burrow. If the Atlanta secondary can give the pass rush just a bit of time consistently the Falcons will be in this game late based on the Bengals’ offensive line.
