4. Atlanta’s pass rush came to life

Let’s ignore the obvious issues for Atlanta defensively and chalk them up to Joe Burrow and the injuries in the Atlanta secondary.  Instead let’s focus on the fact the Atlanta pass rush was able to finish the day with three sacks with Grady Jarrett, Lorenzo Carter, and DeAngelo Malone all getting home and sacking Burrow.

The issues in the secondary can be fixed as Atlanta faces inferior quarterbacks and the secondary gets healthier. What Atlanta has needed so badly is to find a consistent pass rush outside of Grady Jarrett.

This was a step in the right direction on an otherwise forgettable day for the Atlanta defense. Carter is the one player, in particular, the Falcons need to step up with Jarrett playing at an incredible level and rookie Arnold Ebiketie showing consistent pressure Carter could be the missing piece that gives the Falcons a consistent pass rush.
