1. Marcus Mariota

Mariota’s overtime interception should have ended the game for the Falcons last week and likely would have resulted in a lot of people calling for rookie Desmond Ridder. It is an interesting situation with the Falcons winning despite Mariota’s consistent mistakes leaving a reason for Arthur Smith to leave the veteran in as the starting quarterback. As long as this team is winning and leading the division I don’t believe Smith is going to make a change even if it is very obvious that he should.

Mariota won the game on Sunday with a nice scramble that set up his kicker after making a mistake that should have lost the game. Atlanta needs Mariota to continue to find the rhythm he did passing the ball late against Carolina minus the turnovers. If Marcus can take away just one of the turnovers he had against the Panthers with the same level of production in the passing game the Falcons are going to have a chance to beat the Chargers. This is a Chargers team that struggles to put anyone away and often collapses late in games, Mariota is going to have a chance to win this game.
