Watching the Atlanta Falcons take on the Chargers was a reminder of the fact that this roster continues to compete every week often with rosters that are far more talented and clearly have better star players. This isn’t to mention many of these teams have a quarterback that is capable of completing a deep pass. Something Mariota continued to struggle with against the Chargers.

Kyle Pitts deserves some blame for his route running or lack of full effort as well, however, it is important to remember he has been utilized as a blocker for much of the first nine weeks of the season.  Mariota’s continued inconsistency obviously has played a part in it as well.

For now, however, let’s focus on the Atlanta Falcons who did their jobs at a high level on Sunday and put the team in a position where they could win against a superior team.
