Atlanta Falcons key #1: Shut down D’Onta Foreman’s physicality

One of the biggest takeaways from the last matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers was that D’Onta Foreman can be a legit running back in this league and has a brutal running style.

Against Atlanta, Foreman had an average of 4.5 yards per carry, 118 rushing yards, and three touchdowns. He simply carried their offense, with some help from D.J. Moore who they also need to key in on.

Much of Foreman’s success came after contact as it seemed like it was impossible for the Atlanta defenders to bring him down on first contact. That cannot happen again and the defense (linebackers especially) need to match his physicality on every down. Don’t let him be the one who sets the tone on Thursday Night Football.

He also managed to force six missed tackles, by far the most he has had in a game this season. So, it isn’t just about stopping him, it is also about getting a hand on him.

The Falcons’ defense better bring their toughness as the Carolina Panthers are going to try a similar recipe to see if they can take us down.
