Atlanta Falcons: Marcus Mariota terribly inaccurate throwing to two stars
Here we are on this topic again, but when it is the most controversial and popular topic surrounding the Atlanta Falcons then there are plenty of things to talk about.
Marcus Mariota has been very inaccurate and no one can deny that. There is a telling stat that we will go over showing how bad he has been. It is hard to defend him anymore even if you have been a big fan of his over the years.
Atlanta Falcons QB Marcus Mariota is very inaccurate when throwing to Kyle Pitts and Drake London
What quarterback wouldn’t want to throw to the star receivers on the Atlanta Falcons? Kyle Pitts is six-foot-six, while Drake London is six-foot-five, if you put the ball anywhere near them then they will most likely snag it.
For Marcus Mariota, putting the ball anywhere near those two has been a struggle this year and it makes you realize how concerning his play at the quarterback position has been.
Marcus Mariota has missed essentially one of every three passes when targetting the six-foot-six Kyle Pitts and has missed one of every five passes when throwing to the six-foot-five Drake London.
If you cannot hit those two players, then honestly, you are never going to be an accurate passer. There is no excuse to miss targets that have the size of Pitts or London.
Kenny Pickett is the only other quarterback with two receivers on this list and they are missed on 15% of throws. Although the Panthers (and their many quarterbacks) are responsible for D.J. Moore and the majority of Robbie Anderson’s targets since he hasn’t been used much with the Cardinals.
It has been hard to watch the two top-ten draft picks not have many targets that are catchable. This needs to be sorted out soon or the Atlanta Falcons will remain extremely inconsistent. Hopefully, the fix will be Desmond Ridder, if he ever gets a chance.
