There has been an influx of new football leagues over the past few years, the AAF (didn’t last a full season), the XFL (didn’t last a full season), the USFL, and now the XFL, once again, now owned by new people including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. In their inaugural draft, Vic Beasley, the former Falcons pass rusher, was taken with the top pick by the Vipers

Who ever thought we would hear his name associated with football again? It is a little bit stunning to see him back on the field because of the relatively-recent rumors that he never really enjoyed playing football when he was with the Falcons.

Former Atlanta Falcons first-round pick Vic Beasley is back on the field in the XFL

The XFL recently had its inaugural (again) draft for its eight teams, and one of the most coveted players was Vic Beasley who was a coveted player coming out of Clemson in 2015 and went on to become the eighth-overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons.

They divided the draft into different sections of players (skill position players, offensive line, front-seven, defensive backs, and specialists) and Vic Beasley ended up being the first player drafted in the front-seven category.

The Vegas Vipers selected the freak athlete who had 15.5 sacks in 2016 as a member of the Falcons.

Many Falcons fans do not exactly have positive opinions of Vic Beasley, but it is great to see him back playing football. There is zero doubt he is a freak athlete and a great person. He was dominant during the 2016 season as he led the NFL in sacks. Falcons fans should be cheering him on when the league kicks off in February.

Following his time with the Atlanta Falcons, he went on to join Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders in 2020 and hadn’t been heard from until now.

Who knows, maybe he can rejuvenate his career in the XFL and end up back in the NFL. The Atlanta Falcons certainly use a decent pass rusher right now.
