Whether or not the hit that knocked out Atlanta Falcons star tight-end Kyle Pitts for at least four games, and likely more was dirty can be heavily debated. It was a hard hit by a defender who knew he was outmatched and took Kyle out at the knees.

Regardless of the intent behind it, the result for Pitts and the Falcons is all the same for a team who will be without one of the best young pass catchers in the league. This hurts what is already a very weak air attack due to Marcus Mariota’s continued struggles.

Replacing Kyle Pitts is going to be close to impossible for a surprising 5-6 Atlanta team that remains within the division and wildcard race. With the trade deadline well past and free agent options, non-existent Atlanta will have to look within its own roster to find playmakers to step up and give them the production Pitts has so far this season. Starting with a rookie receiver who is already making the most of his opportunities.
