3. Arthur Smith

Arthur Smith is catching a lot of deserved heat for his late-game decision-making against Washington. Smith made a key mistake that cost the Falcons a game, however, let’s be completely fair to Smith and point out what an amazing job he has done with a very limited roster. In two years he has erased half a decade of bad contracts and put Atlanta in a position to make any moves they wish next off-season.

He has helped bring in young talent and installed a running game the Falcons haven’t seen since Devonta Freeman had early success.  There is no question Smith is the right man to turn the Falcons franchise back into a competitive organization. He has made mistakes and will continue to though these mistakes are far outweighed by his continual elevation of what is objectively one of the worst rosters in the league. Smith is going to go into Sunday even more motivated after letting an important game slip away against Washington and continue to prove he is the coach that will carry Atlanta back into relevance.
