Atlanta Falcons must put pressure on Tom Brady’s Bucs
By Nick Halden
The Atlanta Falcons will kick off in the familiar 1:00 EST time slot on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The game is clearly one Atlanta cannot afford to drop sitting a game behind Tampa in the NFC South division race. They are far out of the wildcard hunt and have only one path to the playoffs and that is catching the struggling Bucs and winning the NFC South.
Regardless of who wins the division, it seems their team is destined for elimination considering just how poorly the division is as a whole. Regardless of the outcome, Atlanta’s urgency in this game is as high as at any point in the season.
Tom Brady and the Bucs take on a New Orleans Saints team with a history of giving Brady trouble. Even when the Bucs were a team to be feared over the last two seasons the Saints often found a way to get the better or Brady and the Bucs.
With the matchup slated for Monday night, the Falcons have a prime opportunity to put even more pressure on Tom Brady with a win over the Steelers.
A win from Atlanta completely changes the division picture giving the Saints a chance to put themselves back in the conversation with an upset win over the Bucs. Tampa is coming off of an absolute collapse against a Browns team that the Falcons beat this season.
Tampa appeared to have turned the corner with a nice win over the Seahawks before the latest debacle that gave Brady so many chances to come through in the clutch. Brady wasn’t the only one failing, however, with the defense continually letting Jacoby Brissett make plays and set up an impressive 4th down conversion for the game-tying touchdown. This is a Tampa team that hasn’t done well under pressure, pressure the Falcons have a prime opportunity to apply with a win on Sunday.
