In case you missed it, which you probably did considering the other news that has been circling around today at the quarterback position, the Atlanta Falcons have signed one of the league’s fastest players.

He was waived off of the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad a few days ago and the Falcons have wasted no time by signing the promising player out of Utah.

Atlanta Falcons sign CB Javelin Guidry to their practice squad

The Atlanta Falcons represent the fifth team that Javelin Guidry has been a part of this year, which doesn’t make this signing seem promising but then again, it only takes one team to unlock his abilities and turn him into a great player.

Guidry came out of the University of Utah in 2020, participated in the NFL Scouting Combine, and posted a ridiculous 40-yard dash time of 4.29 seconds. Needless to say, this dude can absolutely fly.

He is one of the fastest active players in the NFL. Tariq Woolen and Marquise Goodwin are two active players that have achieved a faster time in the combine, that’s how special his speed is.

He was an undrafted free agent that was signed by the New York Jets where he stuck until he was let go in August. Since then he has been with the Cardinals, Raiders, and Eagles.

If he can’t excel as a corner then perhaps the coaches could try him on the offense. Surely, his 4.29 speed can be utilized. Think about Avery Williams and how he made the switch from defense to offense, or even how the Patriots are using their punt returner/cornerback, Marcus Jones. Jones was given his first snap on offense last week and he caught a screen pass that he took 48 yards for a touchdown like it was nothing.

There are other ways that you can use his insane speed, or maybe he does turn into a good cornerback that the Falcons can benefit from. He is definitely an intriguing player due to his speed.
