3 Teams with a worse quarterback situation than the Atlanta Falcons
By Nick Halden
The Atlanta Falcons quarterback situation over the past two seasons has been hard to watch. With Matt Ryan struggling last season and Josh Rosen as his primary relief option. This season has only gotten worse with Marcus Mariota taking over as the Atlanta starter. His one consistent trait has been his ability to overthrow a wide-open receiver.
It has been an ugly two years at the most important position on the field one fans were used to a level of stability from with years of Matt Ryan under center. However, Ryan clearly isn’t the player he once was and Mariota has somehow been a downgrade from even the quarterback Ryan is now.
Arthur Smith has finally seen enough from Mariota and is turning to rookie Desmond Ridder for the final four games of the season. Ridder has given Atlanta fans plenty of reason to be excited, however, it is far from clear whether he will be a franchise option moving forward.
As Atlanta waits to watch Ridder’s debut and attempts to get the nightmare that was Marcus Mariota as the starting quarterback out of their head there are three teams across the league in particular that will leave fans feeling far better about where Atlanta is at the quarterback position.
