3. Atlanta’s win over San Francisco

Easily the best moment of the Atlanta Falcons season was their 28-14 win over a good San Francisco team. With a healthy Jimmy G. still starting for San Francisco, the 49ers were one of the clear playoff threats in the NFC and by far Atlanta’s most shocking victory.

Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley powered the offense helping the team control the clock and the Atlanta defense forced consistent San Francisco turnovers to give their offense extra possessions. Marcus Mariota played arguably his best game of the season tossing two touchdowns and playing a clean and consistent game.

If there is one game Atlanta should use as a blueprint heading into next season as to who they are capable of being in 2023 it is this game tape. Atlanta controlled the clock and played complimentary defense to help pull the team back to .500 and give them a chance at stealing a division that has continued to find new ways to underachieve.
