3 rise up, 3 fall down in the Atlanta Falcons eliminating loss to Ravens
↑Jalen Dalton & Timmy Horne↑
Okay, we are starting off by cheating, if you want to classify it that way, but the two younger interior defensive linemen for the Atlanta Falcons came to play in the cold.
Jalen Dalton, who is in his third year, didn’t play too many snaps but he had his name singled out a couple of times. Then you have the rookie Timmy Horne who played a lot more and managed to also make a big impact.
They were two of the players who could actually stop the running game for the Ravens. They actually represent the two highest-graded defenders on PFF for the Falcons in that game.
↓Cordarrelle Patterson↓
Take this with a grain of salt because we know the type of player Cordarrelle Patterson is but we cannot ignore the fact that his carries have diminished significantly since he came back from injury. It is easy to forget but prior to his injury, he was one of the NFL’s leading rushers.
This has more to do with the emergence of Tyler Allgeier, and less to do with CP being ineffective. I think he should be used more as a wide receiver if they aren’t going to give him double-digit carries. For heck’s sake, CP had nine carries while Avery Williams had three.
He also did have a touchdown that was inexplicably called back due to a phantom holding call.
