Three free agents the Falcons will undoubtedly have interest in
Roquan Smith – LB
This will excite a lot of Falcons fans, considering where Roquan Smith went to college. Smith will be looking for top dollar after he was traded to Baltimore and turned their defense into a totally different unit.
The Falcons may or may not resign Rashan Evans, and even if they do, they should still have interest in Roquan. Ryan Pace, who is Atlanta’s Senior Personnel Executive, was the general manager of the Bears when they drafted Smith with the eighth-overall pick
Dean Pees, if he returns, would be ecstatic to have Roquan, especially if Rashan Evans also returns.
It is also worth pointing out that the Bears are the only team with more cap space than the Falcons and I am sure that even if the Bears were to call Smith during free agency, he wouldn’t pick up the phone. Basically, the Falcons could outbid anyone, but whether or not he makes it to free agency without signing a long-term contract with the Ravens is another question.
