3. Atlanta badly needs veteran leadership and depth at receiver

The last two seasons have been ugly at the receiver position when it comes to depth. The Falcons had to rely on Drake London down the stretch for any consistent production from their receivers. With Olamide Zaccheaus hitting free agency and zero reliable targets behind London the Falcons should be expected to make a number of moves at the position.

Jones would provide a reliable veteran target and perhaps a mentor for Drake London. Jones would add much-needed depth as a third or fourth receiver and take some of the pressure off of London. While Atlanta would still need to make moves at the position after signing Julio it would be a huge step in the right direction and push the passing offense back to respectability. Julio doesn’t solve all of Atlanta’s problems on offense but it is a move that should be made if Jones is willing to return to Atlanta.
